Michigan Wolverine Innovation Nework (MWIN)
What is MWIN?
UM-Flint’s Michigan Wolverine Innovation Network (MWIN) seeks to foster a campus culture of innovation, creativity, and the entrepreneurial mindset throughout all academic disciplines. This is achieved through building relationships among faculty, students, community and industry partners to solve entrepreneur and industry-identified problems and leveraging institutional resources for proof-of-concept commercialization.
MWIN is a signature program of UM-Flint’s Office of Economic Development and EDA University Center for Community and Economic Development. Funding for the Winter 2025 MWIN program is provided in part by the C.S. Mott Foundation and the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
Who can participate?
Students
Students who participate in the MWIN Capstone course will have a unique opportunity to work in interdisciplinary teams to solve real world problems. This experience will expose students to a variety of approaches to solving problems and will provide a foundation for their future career. Students will work closely with their faculty mentor, network with business and industry partners, and learn first-hand what it is like to be an innovator.
UM-Flint Faculty
The Winter 2025 Faculty Innovation Fellows will participate as a cohort in virtual and in-person workshops focused on entrepreneurship and the innovation process. Fellows will be guided by subject matter experts from ideation to product development, launch, and potential commercialization of their innovation.
